The Peer for Good programme are monthly gatherings for foster parents — a safe space for foster parents to connect with each other. These sessions bring foster parents together to offer encouragement and friendship, ensuring no one feels alone in fostering.
This programme pairs experienced foster parents with newer or current foster parents. Through mentoring and ongoing check-ins, the initiative seeks to:
Strengthen resilience in foster parents through peer encouragement.
Provide practical guidance on navigating fostering challenges.
Build a supportive community where no foster parent feels alone.
Improve stability for children by helping foster families thrive.

Parenting a foster child often means walking alongside them through loss, separation, and healing — holding space for a story that began before you, and preparing for a future that may look different again.
There's a Japanese art form called kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold — the cracks don't disappear, they become part of the beauty. These workshops invite you to see your fostering journey the same way: the hard moments, the growth, the relationships with your foster child and their biological family — all of it, valuable.
What to expect: A warm, honest space to reflect on your own story alongside other foster parents, with hands-on kintsugi activities, practical tools for navigating transitions, and support as you prepare for reunification with the biological family. You'll leave with something tangible too: your own piece of repaired pottery, and a plan for the road ahead.
We have community chats, foster parent chat groups, and special-interest groups that address specific needs (e.g., special needs). The groups also share resources, such as gently used items and useful information, to support foster parents on their journey.
Join us as a HFG-SG member to be included in our chat group to stay updated on our programmes and events.
