This programme includes WhatsApp group chats, decentralised zone groups based on location for emotional support and gatherings, and special interest groups that address specific needs (e.g., special needs and adoption). The groups also share resources such as gently-used items and useful information to support foster parents on their journey.
This programme pairs experienced foster parents with newer or current foster parents. Through mentoring and ongoing check-ins, the initiative seeks to:
Strengthen resilience in foster parents through peer encouragement.
Provide practical guidance on navigating fostering challenges.
Build a supportive community where no foster parent feels alone.
Improve stability for children by helping foster families thrive.

The Buddy for Good Programme, with trained befrienders assigned, provides emotional and social support to foster children and their families throughout their fostering journey. This befriender role goes beyond fostering, continuing to support the foster child and their biological families even after reunification.
HFG-SG is looking for volunteer befrienders who are ready to make a difference in a child’s life and strengthen foster and biological families.

This initiative includes information sessions for prospective foster parents, workshops for current foster parents, and initiatives to raise awareness about fostering in Singapore.
We assist the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) in identifying foster parents and respite carers for temporary care.
We collaborate with other stakeholders to plan and execute events that cater to the interests of fostering families, such as shows and outings.
While not foster parents themselves, volunteers support our work with the fostering community.
